Workforce Planning Hamilton, as a follow up to our Community Mapping report (see final report here: http://workforceplanninghamilton.ca/publications/267), is coordinating a project called Connect Communicate Collaborate:  Strengthening the Service Delivery Network in Hamilton.  This project is funded by MTCU.

Members of WIN Hamilton are all part of a broad network of employment and training services in Hamilton.  In this survey we are asking all E & T workers about your knowledge of this system and how communication occurs.  We are looking to see how we can improve connections and communications across this broad network.

This workshop is designed to build yourself awareness on what your skills, interests, and values are; 3 topics that we sometimes forget to con-sider, and are crucial when exploring what careers are a best fit for YOU. We use fun interactive assessments to open your mind and assess yourself. At the end of this workshop, you will have a better understanding of your employment needs and the tools to assist you on your way

Career Cruising is a fun online career assessment that assesses your skills and interests, and then provides you with suggestions on what ca-reers you may be interested in researching further. Once you have completed the assessment, we will use this website to research the job de-scription, earnings, requirements such as education, career path, working conditions and event related careers you never thought about! You will also be provided with helpful links to check out the labour market trends in your community for that career.

YWCA Hamilton's S.I.S.T.E.R. Graduation

YWCA Hamilton is pleased to announce the Graduation Ceremony for 27 young women from the SISTER program (Success in Service Training and Employment Retention) scheduled on Wednesday October 15, 2014, 12:00 p.m. at YWCA Hamilton. Please find RSVP information below.

This free program enables young women between the age of 15 to 30 who face barriers to employment in developing their skills and making successful transitions into the labour market. SISTER offers a combination of interventions including, job placement, individualized advisement, coaching and support. Participants receive assistance in skill identification, resume writing, interview skills and job maintenance. In addition, participants receive certification in WHMIS, Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling & First Aid/CPR certification. This project is funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Skills Link Program.

YWCA Hamilton strengthens women’s and girl’s voices, broadens their choices, builds dynamic leadership and provides essential and meaningful services that promote safe, inclusive and equitable communities.
