30k On My Feet Not My Seat is Done but you can Still Donate!

May 21, 2013

Friday was the perfect day for the “30k on my feet not my seat" event. The first 25 km were easy, the last 5 a bit more challenging. Leah began at Mohawk College around 8 am, made a 15 minute stop at the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre around 23 km into the run. She had to contend with stop lights along the way, so the actual running time was 3.5 hours (with a bit of walking to combat Charlie horses in her calves).

The “30k on my feet not my seat” is done, but you can still donate to support ABEA’s educational services for at-risk youth at Living Rock Ministries. For more information visit abea.on.ca/30kInfo.php

We will announce the amount raised on June 20th at our Leaders in Literacy Breakfast. For more information and to order seats please visit abea.on.ca/BreakfastRegistration.php

7th Annual OW/ODSP Town Hall

May 14, 2013

We are inviting you to attend and to also to share this invitation with our mutual clients.

The Annual OW/ODSP Town Hall provides an opportunity for citizens of the City of Hamilton, clients of the OW/ODSP programs, service providers and staff of the OW/ODSP programs to network, engage discussion, provide information on services and benefits and to also provide information on other valuable community services which relate to the topic of discussion. The focus of this year’s Town Hall is: “I CAN!; Making Connections to Achieve my Goals”.

As part of our advertising campaign, we have created a poster with details of the event. We request that you share with your networks and potentially post at your location. The poster is available in English and French via the link below.
