Update on Employment Assistance Resource Network (EARN)

January 14, 2014

Last year Workforce Planning Hamilton shared a survey with the community to garner feedback about EARN. Over 100 people completed the survey with 68% being aware of EARN, and 32% unaware.

Key findings from the survey indicated that the main reasons that people were no longer regularly attending meetings included: agenda wasn’t always relevant; did not know about meetings; time constraints; and other staff were assigned to attend.

Over 50% of those surveyed would continue the current meeting schedule (ie. monthly meetings). Over 60% found the Annual Regional Networking event in the fall to be of value.

Hire Learning Survey: Please share with employers

January 06, 2014

Hamilton employers: We want to hear about your hiring experiences and needs.

The Hire Learning Survey is the result of an extensive joint effort to provide employers, job seekers, and community organizations valuable insights into the demand-side of Hamilton’s labour market.

This vital data is not captured by other organizations and understanding it will help all members of the community use real-time local labour market information. This will help Hamilton to gauge and strategize about skills shortages, gaps and mismatches. The survey will be open throughout the month of January, so please let us know about your hiring experiences today. Please also share this survey with other Hamilton employers.
