You will learn… How and when to approach an employer. Should you or Should you not disclose and if you do, when is the right time to share information? What laws protect you if you do disclose? Learn about hidden discrimination and how to accommodations.
This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in increasing their customer service skills. Discuss your best customer service experiences. Learn tips and strategies to build your customer service skill base. Earn a customer service certificate to add to your job search portfolio
Scott’s Directories & Community Information Workshop
This workshop will teach you how to generate leads in your job search through the use of the Scott’s Directories databases PLUS learn about Hamilton Community Information with our guest speaker from The Red Book of Hamilton.

YWCA Hamilton’s Bridging Programs are designed to prepare Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) for employment in Canada. Programs offer technical upgrading and sector communications training, including interactive workshops, followed by support in creating pathways to employment opportunities. This program provides an opportunity to further develop skills and enhance awareness of the Canadian workplace culture, thus improving the ability to seek and secure work commensurate with education and experience.
If you are internationally educated professional, are legally entitled to work in Canada and have a Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment overall score of 7 or higher, this program is for you.
In Ontario, if you serve, sell or handle alcohol in a licensed establishment you must be Smart Serve certified. Attend the Smart Serve training and write the certification test at YWCA Hamilton.

All employment and training service providers from front line staff to managers are invited to attend C3: Connect, Communicate, Collaborate, a half day event on March 4, 2015.
The mandate of C3 is to improve connections across the service delivery system to ensure that clients are receiving the right services from the right organizations.
There will be two sessions, held in the morning and afternoon, with the same agenda. Service providers are invited to attend one of the sessions. Please indicate on your registration form which session you will be attending.
